The spotted wing drosophila, Drosophila suzukii, has become a key invasive pest of soft- and thinskinned fruit crops in its recently invaded regions of Europe and Americas. The aptitude to attack ripe fruits and the very wide host range of this pest call for non-chemical and area-wide management strategies. Here, I report the current research efforts for defining classical, augmentative and conservative biological control strategies against this pest.
